Frontotemporal Dementia Caregiver Support Group

The UCSF Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) Caregiver Support Group provides education as well as support to caregivers and families of people with FTD or related neurodegenerative diseases, such as progressive supranuclear palsy and corticobasal degeneration. The group addresses the specific needs of FTD caregivers, which are often different from those of caregivers for people with Alzheimer's disease. The format is informal, featuring open discussions and occasional speakers. Attendance is free, but advance registration is required.

The UCSF Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) Telephone Support Group serves adult children of FTD patients. People anywhere in the country are welcome to join the discussion by phone. Participation is free. Please contact the group facilitator for the call-in number and to clarify the meeting time.

Huntington's Disease Support Group

The UCSF Huntington's Disease Support Group welcomes individuals affected with or at risk for Huntington's disease, as well as their family members, 所爱的人, friends and caregivers. The format is informal, with occasional guest speakers who share their knowledge of medical management, research and resources.

Living with Dementia Caregiver Support Group

Early-Onset Alzheimer's Disease Support 组

The UCSF Early-Onset Alzheimer's Disease Support 组 are designed for patients who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease before age 65 and for their caregivers or partners. To participate, patients must be in the mild stage. The patient support group allows individuals with Alzheimer's disease to share thoughts and feelings with others who are having similar experiences. The caregiver group provides support, validates difficulties associated with caregiving, addresses emotional challenges and instills coping skills. Facilitators also offer education on neurodegenerative diseases and discuss new research developments.
